Work unitedly for specially abled children

"Everyone must work unitedly for the welfare and overall development of specially abled children," said Suntikoppa Gram Panchayat President K E Kareem distributing prizes to the winners of the cluster level sports meet organised for the specially abled children at Suntikoppa Government Model Primary School on Thursday by the Department of Public Instruction and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan project.


He said that the special children must be treated equally without any disparity.School Development Monitoring Committee President N Narayan presided over the programme.

T V Shaila delivered the keynote address. Gram Panchayat former president Monappa Poojary, members Nirmala Sheshappa, Nalini Lokesh, Nabeez, Janaki Raman, Geetha Devi, Autorikshaw Drivers’ Association President Gilbert D’Souza and others were present.

Inauguration

Inaugurating the programme, BEO B K Shivanna said the specially abled children must be provided proper opportunities and guidance in order to bring them into the mainstream instead of showing them mere sympathy.
He said everyone must make efforts unitedly for the betterment of the specially abled persons.

The negative feelings regarding the children of disabled people must be done away with and a suitable atmosphere must be created for them to live like others. Alongwith the government, voluntary associations must also provide help for such children, he added.

Suntikoppa Gram Panchayat Vice-President M A Usman said everyone must put in efforts for the progress of the specially abled children.
