The ‘Adavi Swamiji’s Nirvikalpa Samadhi Jathra Mahotsava’ was held with grandeur and pomp at Toremutt in Gubbi taluk of Tumkur district, recently.

Technology woes
Expressing his views on the advent of advanced technology in media in the society, he said, thanks to it, the rich art and culture of our country is perishing. Due to visual media, theatre is being neglected. Unfortunately, today’s actors do not have the right qualities of acting, he said.
Their acting is always covered up by advanced technology. Grand sets and lightings and other advances techniques are enough to decorate the sets and the actors rarely put in efforts to hone their skills, the Swamiji added.
Apart from good acting, the actors should also possess the qualities of drifting the audience to another world.
Only, theatre can provide an opportunity for the audience to take them to a different world by controlling their thoughts and mind, which any other media lacked, the Swamiji said.
Fight for equality
Right from the early days, the society has often witnessed divisions and classes. It is up to us to fight for equality and rights and try to achieve a classless society.
Also, one should try to seek God through their work and good deeds, the Rajashekhar Swamiji advised.
On the occasion, members of the Kusuma Kala Sangha of Melekallahalli village, performed the ‘Jalagara’ written by Kuvempu, with the help of the artists from the various associations.
Lauding the attempt made by the play director Ramesh Melekallahalli, in portraying the drama at its best, the Swamiji said, the drama was very ideal to the present situation.
