More than 5,000 art works of over 200 artists to be exhibited
Kudla Kalaavali Kalaamela on Nov 24, 25

 SS Creations and Artists of undivided Dakshina Kannada district are jointly organising the Kudla Kalaavali Kalaamela on November 24 and 25 at Kadri Park in Mangalore. Speaking to media persons, Co-ordinator N S Pathar said that more than 200 artists from all over Udupi, Dakhina Kannada and Kasargod districts will take part in the two-day fest where more than 5,000 art works of various genres will be exhibited.

Stick drawings, portraits, landscapes, collage, murals, carricatures, abstract, advertisement related paintings, creative art works, experimental ones, 2D and 3D sculpures, sand art and other handicrafts will be among those exhibited in the fest.

A major attraction of the event will be the exhibition of photographs by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade clicked during his visit to China.

Live demonstrations
Another main attraction of the fest will be the live demonstrations on various genres of painting by eminent artists. There will be demonstration on landscape art by P N Acharya and demonstration on portraits by Madhusudhan Kumar on November 24 at 3 pm and 4 pm respectively.

Demonstration on photography, collage by K P Shenoy and Mural by Gopadkar will be held at 11 am, 12 noon and 3 pm respectively on November 25.

Painting competitions

There will be separate painting competitions for primary and high school students as part of the fest. The primary level competition will be held on November 24 at 10.30 am and will be inaugurated by KMC Professor of Paediatrics Dr U V Shenoy.

The High-school level competitions will be held on Sunday, November 25 at 10 am and will be inaugurated by MLA Yogish Bhat. Around 700 children are expected to participate in the competitions.

Entertainment

There will also be cultural programmes like Bharatanatyam, Mimicry and Hindustani Sitar Vadan at 6 pm on November 24. 

Inauguration

Karnataka Bank Chairman Ananthakrishna will inaugurate the fest at 9.30 am on November 24. Deputy Commissioner M Maheshwara Rao, Kannada Sahitya Parishat District President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, KCCI President Kumble Narasimha Prabhu, Surathkal MLA Krishna J Palemar, Chairman of Alva’s Educational Trust Dr Mohan Alva and eminent artists Ramesh Rao U from Udupi and P S Punichithaya from Kasargod will be the guests on the occasion. Artist D K Chowta will preside.

Concluding session

Chairman of Nitte Education Trust N Vinay Hegde will preside over the concluding session of the fest at 5 pm on Sunday. Senior Artist B G Mohammed will be felicitated on the occasion.

Karavali Group of Colleges Chairman Ganesh Rao, Superintendent of Police Satish Kumar, Jeweller Raghunath Shet, Ullal MLA UT Khader, Islamic Academy of Education Chairman Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi and reputed artist from Mysore Ramdas Adyanthaya will be the chief guest on the occasion.

President of the organising committee Ganesh Somayaji, Vice President Koti Prasad Alva, Secretary Disnesh Holla, Treasurer Karunakar M H and various artists were present at the press meet.
