Jazz and blues fest

December 1 abd 2 will see the city savour one of the finest genres of music Jazz and blues.

Radio Indigo’s Indigo and Blues International Jazz and blues Festival. Spread over two days the festival will bring to Bangalore some of the best jazz bands – Indian and international to perform in the city, making it the biggest ever Jazz and blues festival the country has seen.

The festival is being held in the lawns of Jayamahal Palace Hotel, behind the Cantonment Station.
Indigo and Blues International Jazz and blues festival is the beginning of a series of festivals in the years to come like the Montreux Jazz Fetsival or the Newport Jazz festival and will put Bangalore on the jazz map.

The festival will see a host of bands perform - Max Mueller Bhavan, Bangalore, the cultural partner is bringing down the German jazz band Café du Sport, first prize winners of the Hennessy Jazz Search 2000.

The band comprises Jan von Klewitz (saxophone), Bruno Miller (guitar), Guido May (drums) and Christian von Kephengst (bass).

Amit Heri Group, Gerard Machado Network, Junckt from Mumbai, Global Unity from Mumbai, Moon Arra, Barracuda Blues Band, the Kaya Quartet, Chronic Blues band and Matt Littlewood trio from Auroville, Pondicherry will perform.

Guitarist Bob Bonastre from France will perform with Konarak Reddy as a duo. Bob Bonastre born in Senegal (Africa) in a half Spanish and French.

Presented as "one of the next best guitar players" by the French jazz press a few years ago, he has decided after many years of playing electric music with jazzmen in duo and trio, to follow another road, closer to his heart. His work on the nylon strings guitar has opened to him a new direction.
