Blue Bird Gallery presents its most rare and exclusive collection of “Enameled (Meenakari) Silver Artifacts” in Society Collection 2007, Kanteerva Indoor Stadium, November 30 to December 3 from 10 am to 8 pm.
Blue Bird Gallery are art curators from India specialising in Enamelled Silver Artifacts (Enamelling or Meenakari on pure silver). We are the only manufacturers of these Rare Enamelled Silver Artifacts (Birds) in the World. Each item is a masterpiece of immaculate craftsmanship for lovers of unique, rare and exquisite pieces.
The ancient art of enameling also known as Meenakari was once popular with Persian and Moughal Royalty, until now lying forgotten. Lords and the Kings used to appoint artisans to make wonderful objects like birds, animals and utensils as toys for their children. In the exhibition each piece is a perfect example of unmatched craftsmanship, it takes months and even a year to complete one piece. With such immaculate craftsmanship only limited pieces are possible, which are rare and spectacular, worth putting up for sale in auction houses.
Process of Enamelling (Menakari) is possible on Pure Silver. Each piece is molded in its original form, which is very carefully engraved.
Finely grinded glass powder mixed with colours is filled in the engraving, which is fused into silver by heating at particular temperature.
Several rounds of heating are required for reaching the final stag.
Finally it is the result of artisan’s craftsmanship and sensibilities; here lacquer is filled into the mold for strength.
