Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Byregowda said “Results, merit, performance and accountability” were the ideals on which the new leadership would be built.
The State Youth Congress, that will seal its membership drive by December 5, has been set a target of 10 lakh party members across the State. “On an average, we are looking at 20 people per booth... the State has about 40,000 booths. We are targeting 10 lakh members,” he said. While observing that enthusiasm was a given with youth Congress cadres, Byregowda said indiscipline within the unit wouldn’t be tolerated. Workshops on the party’s core ideologies would be conducted to instill a sense of responsibility among the cadres, he added.
