Kolar bundh partially successful
DH News Service, Kolar:
The bundh call given by BJP protesting against the deceit by the JD (S) after assuring to support the party was partially successful in the city on Friday.

Most of the shops and business establishments were closed and many had voluntarily downed their shutters. A few of the schools and colleges had also declared a holiday. However, the schools and colleges where the exams were going on functioned as usual.

Many of the banks also were functioning in the morning. But by afternoon when BJP workers took out a procession, they forced the banks to close and including SBM, many banks followed suit. However, the government offices functioned.

Till ten in the morning, the business was as usual. Most of the shops on MG Road were closed in the morning. But the shop owners belonging to the Minority community opened their shops. Being a Friday many Muslims had closed their shops.

In the light of the bund, there was wide spread security. No untoward incident happened. It was common to see the BJP workers in groups forcing the shopkeepers to down their shutters.
