Nearly 700 children from 8 orphanages will be participating in the Orphanage Olympics 2007 to be organised by Rotary Club Mangalore Central at Canara Girls High School here on November 25.
According to a press release, the event will begin at 8 am and will conclude at 7 pm. Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura will inaugurate the programme while District Governor of Rotary District 3180 Krishna Shetty will be the chief guest.
President of DK Milk Co-operative Union Kapu Diwakar Shetty will preside. The sports competitions will be organised in the morning while cultural programmes will be held in the afternoon, the press release stated.
The winners will be given attractive prizes. This is for the 10th time the Orphanage Olympics is being organised in Mangalore.
