The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has called for a day-long bundh in the state. VHP international president Ashok Singhal told DHNS over phone from Allahabad that the blasts appeared to be an act of jihadi terrorism.

“The militants, who earlier used to target temples and religious places, have now targeted courts, which implies that they are now striking the very pillars of our democracy”, he added.
While chief secretary S P K Mishra is camping in Varanasi, DGP Vikram Singh and ADG law and order Brij Lal have rushed to Faizabad.
