DYSS keep losing
DH News Service, Bangalore:

Department of Youth Services and Sports’ (DYSS) disastrous Super Division campaign hit a further low as they slumped to their ninth defeat, losing to Controllerate of Inspection Electronics (CIL) 1-2 at the Bangalore Football stadium here on Friday.

Despite taking a third-minute lead through Patterson, DYSS went down after quick first-half goals from CIL’s Vasigaran (25th) and Pradeep (28th).

With just one point from 10 matches, DYSS face relegation, while CIL posted th-eir second successive win to take their tally to 13 points from as many matches. Apart from the goals, the match was an insipid affair blotted by miscued passing and modest shooting by both sides.

DYSS blew the game op-en when Patterson fired a fi-erce right-footer from 25 yards from the goal and there was nothing much CIL custodian Chand Pasha could do to stop the attempt.

CIL pressed hard for equaliser but quite often they ran out of ideas inside the rival box. However, Vasigaran levelled the score by shooting his way through a crowded box.

More misery was in store for DYSS as CIL doubled the tally within three minutes. Pradeep took advantage of sloppy marking by DYSS defenders and slammed in an angled drive from left past charging goalkeeper Chiranjeevi.

Moments later, DYSS nearly got the equaliser when Enosh’s cross from right needed only a gentle touch as the ball trundled close to the goalline.

CIL responded with a counter but Edwin held his nerve to make a goalline save off a Kanikaraj header.
Though DYSS availed three substitutions early in the second half, nothing worked for them as they missed Suji Kumar and Kiran Kumar, away with the BDFA XI and State junior team respectively.

Other result: ‘A’ Division: BUFC: 2 (Ramesh 62nd, 85th) bt Tilak Memorial: 0.

Saturday’s matches: ‘A’ Division: SWRI vs BHEL, 1.45 pm; Super Division: KSP vs BEL, 3.45 pm.
