The order issued by the Higher Education Department to lodge a criminal case against the alleged misappropriations has been withdrawn within a time span of 24 hours.

The letter issued from the office of Chief Secretary, Higher Education on Nov 21 had sought detailed enquiry into the irregularities during the period of former V-C Shashidhara Prasad.

 However, a four page ‘show-cause’ notice has been issued to the Registrar, Finance Officer and Government Auditor. The letter  also wants to know as to ‘why action should not be initiated against  former V-C Shashidhara Prasad’ for irregularities.
