The HC on Friday pulled up the police department for its inaction in tracing a man missing for a year, despite its directions.

A habeas corpus petition by Leela Nataraj, a resident of Papareddy Palya, stated that her son Rudraprakash (28) is missing from October 24, 2006. She lodged a missing complaint to Jnanabharathi police in April 2007 after all her search efforts failed, but with no result, she said. Following this petition, a Division Bench headed by Justice V G Sabhahit had directed the jurisdictional police to trace Rudraprakash on two earlier hearings on October 24 and Nov 7.

In absence of any results, the Bench pulled up the cops and directed the Director General of Police to ensure steps for  investigation in the case.
