Speaking at a workshop on ‘Anger Management’ organised for senior officials of prisons from all over the state on Saturday, Dr Sridhara said that anger, which is a learnt behaviour by man for the sake of adjustment, may not work well in places of work.
The workshop was held at the office of Additional Director General of Police (Prisons).
Dr Sridhara asked the staff to be beware of their behaviour and also the way they use words to communicate.
“Train your voice tone. Don’t transfer anger and don’t decide when you are under stress of emotions. Moreover don’t compel anger out of you to show your competence or limitation. Anger is a natural emotion which can be articulated or used in productive way also. Use right body language to indicate your displeasure, but don’t use anger to prove your authority”, Dr Sridhara added.
Several techniques and tools like relaxation, assessment of levels of anger were introduced at the workshop.
Managing Director of Police Housing Corporation R Srikumar inaugurated the workshop. S T Ramesh, IGP, Prisons and others were present at the workshop.
