Governor Rameshwar Thakur on Saturday launched two books ‘Bhavya Bharathada Divya Rashtrapathigalu’ edited by Gauri Sunder, and ‘Shile Kale’ written by Choodamani Nandagopal at the Banquet Hall in Raj Bhavan.
The book highlights the achievements of all past Presidents and also gives a brief life sketch, from the first Governor General of India C Rajagopalachari to Pratibha Patil and contains a catalogue of rare photos too.
The second book ‘Shile-Kale’ gives an insight into the arts of Karnataka and its influence on the cultural aspect of the state.
The Governor said that the Presidents have always exercised their moderating influence and tried to mould policies or actions so silently and discreetly, that many were led to think that they neither ruled or reigned, added the Governor.
