Andhra lovers marry in City

In a case reminding wedding of Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi’s daughter, lovers from Andhra Pradesh, who faced opposition to their marriage, tied nuptial knot in Bangalore with police help on Saturday.

Balalji (25), a scientist in Kolkata, and Chaitanya (22), an MSc student, both from Chittoor, knew each other for nearly six years. They sought police protection for the marriage.

Woman hangs self

A woman committed suicide by hanging at her residence on Friday evening. Nandini, 37, a mother of two, ended life  when her husband was away at work. The reason for the suicide is still not known.

Traffic disrupted

Traffic was disrupted for some time as a concrete mixer toppled in front of Cauvery theatre on the busy Sankey road on Saturday night.

As there was a traffic jam, vehicles had piled up on the road. Many of People coming out the theatre after night show faced anxious moments and had difficulty in reaching home. Many had to walk for a long distance as auto rickshaws were not available.

Several outstation buses were delayed following the mishap. Police had a tough time in clearing the traffic.

Murder case solved

The Bangalore rural police solved a murder case with the arrest of Puttaramu alias Tamme Gowda on Saturday.
The Police said Puttaramu had shot Sunadamma, a resident of Madegowdana Doddi on November 18, with a country-made revolver as she had demanded that her money be returned.
