M’lore boy wins national tourney

Mangalore, dhns: FIDE rated Koushik R of Canara College has won the title for the Under 19 age group in the National level Late Adv Keshavarao Chougule Memorial Open Chess tournament held at Sangli in Maharashtra from November 18 to 20. According to a press release , the tournament was organised by Nutan Buddhibal Mandal in Sangli as part of the ‘Sangli Chess Festival’.

Koushik was awarded Late Sardar Madhavrao Raste Memorial Silver Rolling Shield along with the cash prize, the press release said.
