Preparations are going on in full swing for the ‘Zilla Utsava’ to be held in Tumkur City in the month of January.
A preliminary meeting was held in this regard, on Saturday at Aranya Bhavan. Deputy Commissioner S R Umashankar is the president of the ‘Zilla Utsava’ committee.

The meeting decided to conduct the ‘Zilla Utsava’ very meaningfully and very differently.
In this backdrop, the deputy commissioner had created several sub-committees, like the cultural committee, publicity committee, etc, which would look into the various aspects of the event.
District Conservator of Forest Parameshwar is the chairman of the committee.
District Information Officer Tyagarajaiah, and mediapersons from various newspapers and television channels are the members of this committee and they all attended the meeting.
Several suggestions were given at the meeting by the mediapersons. The meeting was also informed that the name and the symbol of the ‘Zilla Utsava’ to be held in the month of January should be decided soon.
Another important meeting regarding the Tumkur Zilla Utsava would be held on November 29, at the office of the Forest officer, which will be presided by Mr Parameshwar.
Later on, a very important meeting will be held on December 1, which will be presided by the deputy commissioner, informed Mr Parameshwar.
