Member of the Legislative Council Y A Narayanaswamy has assured that he will fight for the increment for Kannada teachers of aided schools.
He was speaking at an interactive programme organised by the Sabarmathi Primary School in S Govind Gowda Auditorium.He also said that the pending increment due to the Kannada teachers has already been discussed at the Government level, but because of the unstable scenario at the state, the desired result has not been arrived upon yet. But he also assured that the representatives of the teachers are continuing to talk with the government about the same.
Discrimination
“The fifth pay commission has discriminated against the highschool teachers and we will continue to protest against it.” he said.
Utilisation
He also added that the officials should relate to the problems of the teachers and ensure that all the facilities are utilised to the maximum extent.
He also added that he was elected as an independent and has not aspirations to join any of the political parties.
Educationist C Byrappa, District highschool principals’ association secretary M Somanna, District Highschool Assistant Teachers’ association D V Ramachandrappa, N Srinivas Reddy, Block Education Officer K S Nagaraj Gowda, B Venkatesh and others participated in the programme.
