Kerala leads in  Sarvodaya
TRIVANDRUM, Nov 24

As an experiment, first in Kerala to reconstruct the villages on Sarvodaya lines was inaugurated by the Governor of Kerala at 27 gram panchayats to take charge of the gramdan villages around Malayadi, 23 miles from Trivandrum.

According to the organisers, over 1,040 families in around 30 villages have surrendered their lands and come forward to establish a new social order based on Sarvodaya ideals.

After inaugurating the Bhoodan movement the Chief Minister Mr E M S Namboodiripad said that his contact with the Bhoodan movement began only recently when Acharya Vinoba Bhave visited Kerala.

Full rebate on import duty
NEW DELHI, Nov 24

The Government of India has decided as a further measure, to promote exports that exporters will be allowed full rebate of the import duty paid on raw materials used in articles which are exported. The rebate will be allowed at a flat uniform rate and will be equal in the full duty element.

Golfers swing two golds for India
NEW DELHI, Nov 24

China and Japan continued their battle for the medals of the Ninth Asian Games, for hosts, India, who had only modest hopes in most disciplines, it was a big day their golfers winning both the individual and team titles against a classy international field. Together with the two golds they picked up yesterday is equestrian events, they now have four golds, and continue in fifth position behind China, Japan, and the two Koreas.
