NITK team selected for national event
Mangalore, DHNS:
National Institute of Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, has been shortlisted for a national-level event Saeidia Baja '07, sponsored by Mahindra, Lombardini, Ford, Chevrolet, Apollo Tyres and ITW Chemin.


The competition is to be held at Natrax facility of Natrap, Pithampur, MP. The objective of the event is to test the design, fabrication, testing and marketing skills of the students. NITK Surathkal is one of the two colleges to be selected for participating in this mega event.

Team NITK has conceived the project in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, under the supervision of Prof T P Ashok Babu, HoD Prof P Mohanan and Dr K V Gangadharan from the Mechanical Engineering Department. The project is sponsored by Bosch, Bangalore and supported by the NITK Alumni Association.

The project is designed by the students of Mechanical Engineering under the leadership of team leader Susheelchand and has culminated from the intellectual capital of the talented students and faculty of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The developed project will be unveiled by NITK Board of Governers Chairman Prof Govardhan Mehta at NITK premises on December 1, 2007 at 3 pm. The inaugural event is being sponsored by ITW Chemin India.
