First-ever Rajyotsava turns out a lack-lustre affair in Chikkaballapur
DH News Service, Chikkaballapur:
Only when there is all round development in Kannada nadu will it be possible for the Kannada language to grow, said deputy commissioner Subodh Yadav.

Only when there is all round development in Kannada nadu will it be possible for the Kannada language to grow, said deputy commissioner Subodh Yadav.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations by hoisting the Kannada flag, here on Thursday and said that one should recall the sacrifice of the great leaders who had devoted their entire life to the growth of Kannada.

There are lot of schemes and projects that have been planned for Chikkaballapur which is in the border and a newly formed one at that and to implement them lot of cooperation is required from the public. To implement the programmes for the development of Kannada language and literature the government is making all efforts, he said.

This is the first time in the district, Kannada Rajyotsava is being celebrated. The dream of the DC to celebrate the event in a grand manner remained just a dream. The people who had expected something special had to remain disappointed. There was not much difference between the celebrations held by taluk panchayat all these years and the district administration this year.

The student strength was very poor. Even though there were tableaux from various departments they were quite ordinary, felt the public.

The suggestions came that more programmes related to Kannada land and language should have been organised. However, amidst all these confusion, the programmes presented by students of various schools were quite eye-catching.

Five persons who had made their contributions in various fields were felicitated on the occasion. Superintendent of police Krishna Bhat, legislator S M Muniyappa, ZP president Chikkanarasimaiah, DDPI Belli Shetty, and BEO Ashwathaiah and others participatedin the Rajyotsava celebrations.
