In the spirit of Kannada Rajyotsava Sri Saagara Sangama Yuva Vedike Samsthe organised a two-day state level music and dance competition at Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Bangalore.

Enthusiastic people of all ages from 5 to 70 years from all over Karnataka including Hubli, Davangere, Tumkur and Sira participated in the event. Competitions were held in devotional, classical, folk and film categories.
Good turnout
More than three hundred members took part in the programme. The “Suvarna Swati Muttu Award” was given to 30 members in recognition of their service rendered in different fields such as social service,sports, singing, dance and teaching. The winners for music were awarded the ‘Gaana Maadhurya’ and dance were awarded the ‘Naatya Mandaara’.
The chief guests were Assistant Commissioner of Police Dr.D.Narayanswamy and Sri Y.M.N Murthy of Humour Club International. YMN Murthy said, “The programme has given a platform for the people of Karnataka to showcase their talent.
Such programmes must be encouraged and conducted on a regular basis to enable more budding artists to come up with their talent.”
