Global entertainment major Warner Bros which has plans to launch an Indian edition of Fortune, world's leading business magazine, may set up a hi-tech animation studio in this eastern metropolis.
A team of senior executives from the Time Warner group led by its chief executive officer(CEO) Richard Parsons which met West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee here on Wednesday, indicated that Warner Bros has been looking into the proposal of the CM in this regard. “We were extremely happy to meet the chief minister who wants us to set up a state-of-the-art animation studio here. We will discuss the proposal and send a team shortly to explore on how we can implement the proposal,” Mr Parsons told newsmen here. “The chief minister explained his government's success in the education sector and the talent pool available. He is keen to use our expertise in setting up animation academies around and also state-of-the-art studios and laboratories,” he added.
