No kidding! Bangalore Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (BMRDA) is offering dating and prostitution services on its website www.bmrda.org
Is this part of the State government’s e-governance policy? The link to BMRDA’s website under alphabetical listing of government websites on www.karnataka.gov.in throws up a website with this menu: car loans, college loans, cosmetic surgery, online dating, weight loss, homes for sale, apartments, dating services, chat rooms, airline tickets and travel guides. Click on any of these options and you will be redirected to websites which offer these services. Even escort services and prostitution services are offered on some pages. BMRDA seems to be offering everything except Bangalore’s development.
The links of websites listed alphabetically at www.karnataka.gov.in do not match the tall claims of e-governance in the State.
Many links do not work. As on Friday 4 pm, the links to Centre for Entrepreneurship Development of Karnataka’s website, Raj Bhavan’s website, Planning, Statistics, Science and Technology and Department of Technical Education, were not working.
On October 2, B S Yeddyurappa resigned as Deputy Chief Minister. On October 8, H D Kumaraswamy resigned as Chief Minister.
Persons in-charge of updating these websites seem to be dozing. The contact info page on the Finance Department website says Yeddyurappa is still the DyCM. The homepage of Department of Women and Child Development says that H D Kumaraswamy is still the CM, Yeddyurappa is still the DyCM and H K Kumaraswamy is still the minister of women and child welfare.
