The meeting of the executive committee, headed by Governor Rameshwar Thakur, on Friday decided to enhance the drip irrigation subsidy for palm oil cultivation to 75 per cent from the present 50 per cent.
The committee, which discharges the duties of State Cabinet during President’s Rule, has also permitted a private firm which has taken up a scheme to generate power from solid waste, to mortgage a portion of the land, earmarked for the project, to borrow money from financial institutions.
The committee, comprising three advisors and state chief secretary as its members, will henceforth meet every Friday either at Raj Bhavan or Vidhana Soudha.
The other decisions are:
*Approval to enhance compensation for the land acquired for widening Kalsanka Road between Udupi and Manipal
*Approval granted for the higher estimation presented by the firm - due to cost escalation - which is developing the Freedom Park at the old central jail premises on Seshadri Road in Bangalore.
