BJP launches dharna to press for government formation
The dharna was led by senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu and had participation from only BJP MLAs and supporters, contrary to the party's claim yesterday that JD(S) MLAs will also join the protest. Naidu has been sent by the party to hold consultations with State unit leaders on Deve Gowda's fresh conditions. Naidu has brought a message from the party high command, BJP sources said.

India has been elected to the Audit Advisory Committee (IAAC)a five-member body which is expected to contribute to improving the accountability of the UN Secretariat to the member states. The members are elected for a three-year term and can contest for one more term.

Residents  of Rancho Bernardo now have to put up with ash and unhealthy air, instead of scenic canyon views and plush green golf courses. Right: The sacred Battle Mountain in Rancho Bernardo was hit by wildfires at 4:30 am on Oct 22. Though the entire mountain was destroyed by fire, the divine Cross on top was miraculously untouched;t he houses on its foothills too emerged unscathed.
