Veteran journalist and columnist Shivanand Joshi will be felicitated by his disciples and followers under the leadership of another veteran journalist Dr Patil Puttappa, MP Prahlad Joshi and MLC Basavaraj Bommai. The programme will be held at Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industries’ auditorium in the city on November 4 at 5:30 pm.

Well-known industrialist BDK chief executive officer Bharat Khimji will realise a book written by Mr Joshi on the occasion.

Former MP Prof I G Sanadi will speak on behalf of the felicitation committee. Former MP and industrialist Vijay Sankeshwar, Opposition Party leader in the Council H K Patil, former minister Jagdish Shettar, former minister Basavaraj Horatti, industrialist Parasanath Yadav and others would attend the function.

Mr Joshi who left college to join journalism at the age of 20 worked for Prapancha, Vishwavani and Samyukta Karnataka in responsible positions.

He was editor-in-chief for Navanadu. He also worked for Sanket, published from Bangalore and other publications. He was editor-in-chief for a magazine, Ganga Kaveri, published by him.
Mr Joshi, who is known for sharp and objective writings, is contributing for leading newspapers and magazines now.
