Mush blames extremism  
Strongly defending imposition of Emergency, Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf Saturday midnight said the difficult decision was taken to save the country from threats from extremists and judicial intervention which led to paralysis in civil administration and law enforcing agencies.
Political activities, rights suspended  
Key fundamental rights, including freedom of the press, were suspended and political activities banned under the Emergency imposed on Saturday by Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and promulgation of the Provisional Constitutional Order by him.
