KSP keep winning
DH News Service,Bangalore:

Defending champions Karnataka State Police (KSP) outclassed Jindal Steel Works, Bellary, in straight sets in the Senior State 'A' Division volleyball league here.
At the Lal Bahadur Shastri grounds on Saturday, the State Cops scored a crushing 25-14, 25-23, 25-15 victory. It was the reigning champions' fifth straight victory in the 11 team league.
The victors rode on Pruthviraj and centreblocker Kanavi's stellar show on the day. Attacker Pruthviraj, a former junior India international, came up with a couple of big winners from the word go and ran the Bellary team ragged. JSW blockers failed to check the attacker and allowed him a free run.
With Kanavi, doubling up as an attacker with his short-ball kills, besides his primary job as a blocker, the champion team was off the blocks in a flash. With the opening set over and done with in a jiffy, KSP began to relax a wee bit.
Bellary's Manjunath and Subhash Chandra did try to cash in, but they succeeded only in running their fancied opponents close. For, before much damage could be done, KSP spikers found their touch to take the second set as well.
The Cops didn't relax their grip on the proceedings in the third set and wrapped up the match without much ado.
In a late night encounter on Friday, former champions Postal huffed and puffed their way past BSNL.
Attackers Lakshminarayana and Abhijeet were the key men in Postal's scheme of things. For the losers, Ravi and blocker Anil Bernard did the bulk of the work.

Results: KSP bt JSW 25-14, 25-23, 25-15; Postal bt BSNL 29-27, 28-30, 28-26, 25-23; KSP bt SAI 25-13, 25-16, 25-15; BEL bt Sports Hostel 25-15, 25-22, 25-18; MEG bt SAI 25-20, 22-25, 25-13, 25-18; SWR bt BSNL 25-18, 25-21, 26-24.
