Teachers examination

 The first day recruitment test for high school teachers went off smoothly on Saturday.

The test comprised two papers on general and arts. Each paper, of two hours each, carries 100 marks. The test was conducted in 314 centres in the State. About 96,297 candidates applied, of these, 14,802 attended. In Arts, about 57,029 candidates applied of which, 46,604 appeared. On the second day, three papers will be conducted - Science, Language and Physical Education.
