Bescom had said some areas would have no power supply between 8 am and 5 pm due to maintenance works. However, power was not restored as scheduled.
Anxious readers called Deccan Herald and poured out their woes. A Murugeshpalya resident said Bescom had not supplied power in the area for over an hour and a half even after 5 pm.
“I tried to call Bescom control room a number of times. Each time, I was told power would be restored in 15 to 20 minutes, but that never happened,” he said.
Another reader sought to know when power be restored. “Even on a Sunday, people are deprived of watching TV. Our day is spoilt,” she said.
Balram, general manager (operations and maintenance), Bescom, said: “Some areas didn’t have power supply after 5 pm due to some technical snags. However, the problem has been rectified.”
