Book exhibition attracts readers

Book exhibition at the exhibition organised near MP Prakash Nagar as part of the Hampi Utsav is an added attraction to the event.
The book exhibition was inaugurated by Hampi Kannada University in-charge Vice-Chancellor Dr H C Boralingaiah here on Saturday. University Prasaranga Department Director Prof Mallepuram G Venkatesh, Music and Dance Drama Academy Registrar Balavantrao Patil, Kannada Book Authority Registrar C Cheluvadi and other officials, Kannada University staff and various representatives of various Kannada publications were present on the occasion.
In all, forty stalls have been opened for exhibiting books. Books of  Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Hampi Kannada University, Navakarnataka Publications, Book Authority, Natak Academy, Kannada Cultural Department and publications from Hubli, Koppal, Kundapur and Gulbarga have are on sale here.
50 per cent discount
Kannada University and Book Authority have offered a discount of 50 per cent on all their books.
Speaking to Deccan Herald, University Prasaranga Department Director Prof Mallepuram G Venkatesh expressed displeasure over the change of venue for exhibiting books.
He said that like previous years, the book exhibition should have been held near the Basavanna Mantap.
