Nirmala Nagar Project CMC to place garbage bins
DH News Service,Madikeri:

For the effective implementation of ‘Nirmala Nagar’ Project, the City Municipal Council has decided to place garbage bins or containers at 10 important points across the City.
“Ten places have already been identified to place the containers and the bins will be placed in those places within couple of days,” informed Commissioner D H Raya.
Speaking to Deccan Herald, Mr Raya said that the bins will be placed either on a concrete platform or on wooden stands at places where huge quantity of waste is dumped. Once the containers are full, the waste will be taken to the waste disposal place using tractors.
Mr Raya said that Stree Shakti Groups are coming forth to extend the waste disposal techniques in other wards because the poor and economically backward people are promptly paying the money for disposal while the elite and the rich are not paying the waste disposal fee.
Private bus stands, fish markets, Dasavala road, new extensions and other 10 important places in the City will be provided with the containers. Mr Raya said that the programme will be formally started by MLA K G Bopaiah and Deputy Commissioner K R Niranjan within a few days.
He also said that the birth and death registration for the 10 years will be brought under the online ambit.
“Already 5,000 cases have been sorted out of 25,000 birth and death registrations. Officials have been informed to complete the works within one month. After this entire system will be made computerised,” he added.
