Character is important than money, students told
DH News Service,Manjeshwara:

“Tourism is springing up in Dakshina Kannada and in surrounding places with the industrial growth. Health and medical tourism is also growing with the pilgrim tourism. Opportunities are plenty in this field which invites adventurous youth,” said Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) President Kumble Narasimha Prabhu.
Speaking at a seminar organised by CUTE, a student organisation of the Department of Travel and Tourism at Govinda Pai Memorial Government College in Manjeshwara on Friday, he said that the youngsters can make a change with the skill of communication and right attitude.
“Four Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are coming up in Mangalore, Gurupura, Thumbe and Mangalagangothri. It will provide huge openings for the tourism and event management industry,” he said and added, “Most important thing in life is attitude. Ninety per cent of people do not succeed in life because of negative attitude. We must overcome such syndrome”.
“Prostitution has become a part of the tourism industry now a days. Places like Bangkok and Amsterdam is known for such flesh trade. Youngsters should remember that character is very important than money. We must stand upright and work for the well being of the society,” he opined.
“The Americans and the British now consider India as their medical tourism destination. Dakshina Kannada is also in the forefront in this field. Foreigners find medical treatment is cheaper here than in their own countries,” he concluded.
CUTE President Anoop Kumar K, Head of the Department Dr Dileep, Faculty members Balakrishna Hosangadi and Nagaraja Sharma were present on the occasion.
