The same will now happen on Tuesday with the legislators leaving for the capital on Monday evening.
The BJP leaders had earlier proposed the idea of parading the legislators before the President to prove they have the majority to form the government. But the party could not go ahead with the plan as its coalition partner JD(S) denied to join.
Till Saturday, the JD(S) leaders kept on arguing there was no necessity to parade before the President.
However on Sunday, JD(S) legislature party leader H D Kumaraswamy changed his mind and gave the green signal for the BJP’s plan.
Mr Kumaraswamy told Deccan Herald: “I don’t want to give room for speculation that I avoided the BJP coming to power by opposing to parade before the President. I am ready to parade along with all MLAs,” he said.
