In all 54 couples from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka had come for the mass marriage. Every couple who had participated in the mass marriage were given free a pair of clothes, mangalyasara, toe rings and also food was served to everyone who participated in the marriage.
The marriage ceremony began at Venkatramanaswamy temple in Gadibande village at 7.30 am. 54 couples were given the marriage thread.
The new couples exchanged garlands amidst the playing of the mangala vadya. And around 7.50 am the grooms tied the knot. Raghavendra Reddy and his wife Mala wished the newly married couple.
Nearly 8,000 people from Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh participated in the marriage.
Every couple who participated in the marriage were given a cash of Rs 10,000 to buy Jersy cow so that it could help them build their lives.
This entire cost was borne by Raghavandra Reddy and his family members. “My love for the public is the only reason for me to arrange this mass marriage. I have done all this with my own earnings,” he said and added that in the future too he planned to celebrate such weddings.
