A protest rally was taken out by the Madiga community people under the aegis of the Madiga Dandora on Monday at Koratagere alleging a conspiracy to construct a hotel at the graves of Adi Jambhava swamijis in Siddarabetta.
Pavagada Sriram state secretary of the Madiga Dandora alleged that it has been conspired to construct a hotel at cemetry where the graves of the swamijis belonging to the Adi Jambhava community are buried. He said that the graves of Siddappa and Eralakkamma who are the Kulgurus of the community have been demolished and a big stone boulder has been placed at the entrance of the shrine in order to avoid the people from worshipping.
Demanding the officials to take a strict legal action against perpetrators of the crime, he said that the graves and ashram there have a history of 40 years.
He said that it is an insult to the entire Madiga community as there are authentic documents to prove their claim. It is a deplorable act, he added.
Though graves are a part of culture and tradition, a few officials for the sake of money are willing to create false documents to suit the private interest, alleged Sriram who demanded immediate suspension of these officials, he said.
He warned of dire consequences in the future if justice is not delivered. Haralaiah swamiji, B G Nagesh, Yogesh and others took part in the protest and procession.
