He was speaking after inaugurating volleyball tournament organised at the Government PU College stadium, by the PU Education Department in association with other organisations.

Sports is as important as curricular activities for the alround development of students, he said. The students. with the constructive approaches and ideas, should serve the nation, he added.

Deputy Director of the district PU education department Ramachandra presided over the programme. Official Dr Tippeswamy, speaking after the flag hoisting session, said that the students had won 43 gold medals previous year at the PU level sports meet.
