Goods worth Rs 8 lakh stolen
DH News Service, Mangalore:

Some unidentified miscreants gained entry into a mobile showroom and decamped with property worth Rs 8 lakh.
According to police, they gained entry by breaking open the back side window and took away mobile phones, digital camera and DVD players. A case has been registered.

Case filed against polygamist

A woman has filed a case against an individual who had married six times by deceiving families just for the purpose of getting dowry.

One certain Vijayan, the son of Koyikkod Narayan from Kerala had married Ms Pushpavathi, the daughter of Korakottodi Kunhirama Maniyani in Nellur Kemraje village six months ago by taking a dowry of Rs 25,000. He was residing in Kasargod with his wife for some time.

Later, he left his wife in her native place. However, when Pushpavathi’s brother Gangadhar went on searching for Vijayan, the case of his multiple marriages came into limelight.

Vijayan had married from Mangal, Katukukke, Kanattur and other places, and it has been known that he has 2-3 children with each lady.

Of late, it has also been learnt that he is preparing for one more marriage! The relatives of the accused namely Rajiv, Raja and Ravi were introducing him (Vijayan) to various families and convincing them that they know him for over 20 years and he is a good person, informed Mr Gangadhar. Cases have been filed both in Sullia and Badiadka police stations, he added.
