“Folklore is an asset given by our forefathers. It is the responsibility of the present generation to preserve it,” said Zilla Panchayat Vice-President P J Antony.
Speaking after inaugurating taluk-level yuva sammelana karyagara and training camp at Shettykoppa village in Narasimharajapura, he said folklore of Malnad are vanishing today. The training camps will help in preserving it.
Folklorist K R Nagarajpuranik spoke on various types of folklores, bhavageethe and its diversity. M Mahesh spoke on ‘Lavanigeethe.’
