In a move aimed at making the journey of air travellers in fog conditions during the upcoming winter a smooth affair, the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) on Monday issued a set of guidelines to all airline operators.
Non-compliance to the guidelines may result in cancellation of airlines flying schedules.
Addressing a newsmen here after two-hour deliberations with the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) as well as other departments concerned, MoCA Joint Secretary K N Srivastva said, “Fog conditions will prevail from December 8 to February 15 and the period has been divided into three categories.’’
All aircraft will have to have equipment which are in compliance with their respective categories. In case of delays, airlines have to provide food to passengers, said Mr Srivastva.
