Sir, This is with reference to your report, "Many areas in the City power-less!". Yesterday, I was told by the BESCOM officials that power would be restored around 7.15-7.30 pm. If it was indeed a technical snag, then how was the BESCOM officials so sure that power would be restored around 7.15-7.30 pm? In fact, power did come around 7.15, but around 7.45 it again went off and came back only around 8.30 p.m. I would like to add that in Murugesh Palya, there is a daily power cut of one hour. If you calculate on an annual basis, this amounts to 40 hours a month (26+12-14hours) Most of the 12-hour power cuts have been happening only on Sundays here. The daily power cut is because of "overload". If these 12-hour maintenance works could not solve the "overload" problem, then why is this maintenance drama? This means this is undeclared load-shedding imposed on the hapless consumer. This is illegal. Please investigate this angle.
