Karnataka State Police defeated Rail Wheel Factory 2-1 to enter the semifinals of the 29th Kodava Cup State-level hockey tournament at the Bharat Electronics Sports Club grounds here on Monday.
RWF took the lead through Jayaraj in the 25th minute. It was a long time before KSP equalised through Paramesh in the 41st minute, while Magesh scored the match-winner in the 52nd minute.
Later, Maratha Light Infantry beat Bharat Electronics Limited 2-1. MLI struck through Kalyan Bhengra (31st PC) and Krishna Patil (40th), while Sandeep was on target for BEL in the 27th minute.
ASC prevail
The quarterfinal encounter between Army Service Corps and Central Excise, which was stopped due to rain on Saturday, was completed on Monday with the former coming through 2-1. Excise had taken the lead in the 16th minute on Saturday before the match was stopped.
The remaining 23 minutes of the match on Monday saw ASC’s Sanjay Tete (38th minute) and Harpreet Singh (43rd minute PC) scoring to see their team advance to the last four stage in the State-level tournament.
