'Kho-Kho for mind and body'

Kho Kho is one of the good sports which originated in India along with Kabbadi and was at the peak of its popularity during the hey days, but today it has been neglected beyond the oblivion, regretted Gram Panchayat member Balaji Chennaiah.


He was speaking at inauguration of the Bangalore University Women’s Kho-Kho competition at Government Women’s college in Kolar on Tuesday.

Youth should be encouraged to participate in Kho-Kho as it is the game for both mind and body, Mr Balaji Chennaiah  added.

Though Kho-Kho and Kabbadi is reputed in India and it is players stand first in the South Asian region, they are suffering due to disinterest of the people, said Balaji who assured the college of all the sports equipment.

Women’s college Principal Govindaiah opined that participation in sports is more important, as winning and losing is the part of the game. He suggested that one should be sportive. B Suresh Gowda president of the JD(S) student Wing was the chief guest.
