The state of these roads have not changed for decades now. Even after the reorganisation of the district, change of legislators, and despite the fact that a politician from this area is a central minister, these roads have still not improved. The Thimmampalli-Billur road has been in a state of disrepair for several decades now, but there is no one willing to look into the matter.
The Thimmampalli-Billur road, which is one of the main roads of the taluk, is the one that connects the taluk to the neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh. The sad state of this road, which connects several villages in the border regions, poses problems to the hundreds of people who commute here on a daily basis.
The length of the road is covered with deep potholes, which get filled with slushy water when it rains. Due to this, two-wheeler riders cannot judge the depth of the potholes, and end up crashing down - and it is because of that reason that two-wheeler traffic on this road has come to a near-standstill.
The fifteen-kilometre stretch of the road connecting Bagepalli and Thimmampalli has also become damaged.
Since the road comes under the jurisdiction of the Zilla Panchayat Technical Department, the Public Works Department has not undertaken any repair works here yet; the Zilla Panchayat has faced several obstacles in taking up the work.
The constituency of the central highway minister is under the limits of this region. The road also falls under the limits of the constituency of the legislator from Chintamani, who has been a minister in several cabinets.
The people now hope that ZP president of Chikkaballapur district, who hails from this area, will help solve this problem.
