It is the government’s duty to provide basic facilities to government schools, for it is only when the schools have all the basic facilities that the children are inspired to study. But due to the government’s negligence, or lack of foresight, many students have been forced to study in the midst of many problems.
Though the govt has enforced regulations specifying that all schools, especially in those where girl students study should have toilets, students are now suffering because the same has not been implemented in their schools.
The Government Higher Primary School located in Karahalli road in the heart of the town, the toilets have been haphazardly constructed. The toilets, which face the road, were attacked by miscreants, who broke the doors.
School authorities have not yet repaired the doors, and the students naturally hesitate to use these toilets.
Though the govt allocates crores of money for the construction and upkeep of these toilets, the money just seems to go waste. The Schools Development Committee, which has been established to improve the state of schools, has not paid attention to this issue which has been posing problems for students. Hoovarasanahalli Rajappa, Taluk convenor of the Dalit Sangharsh Samiti has urged the concerned officials to rectify this problem as soon as possible.
