Students should be aware of the latest scientific inventions, and develop an interest in the subject. In this context, a science exhibition will help inculcate a scientific temper among the students, Dr M R Hulinaykar, chief of the Sridevi trust said here on Tuesday.
He was speaking at the inauguration of the children’s science exhibition organised jointly by the Bangalore-based State Education Research and Training Organisation, Zilla Panchayat, Public Education Department and Sridevi Educational Institutions.
Invention
Presiding over the programme, he said that science is making progress day by day, to an extent beyond that of our imagination. Everyday, there are new inventions in the field of science. The youth should keep track of this and react well in today’s competitive world, he added.
Inaugurating the programme, Director of the State Primary Department, T M Kumar said that there are plenty of natural resources in our land, but the environment is being polluted due to man’s greed. All of mankind, and the youth in particular, should guard against this, he advised.
B A Nagaraj, deputy director of the Public Education Department, urged the teachers to work towards developing a scientific temper among their wards.
Zilla Panchayat CEO Manojkumar Meena, Taluk Panchayat president Gollalayya, block education officer C Nanjaiah, nodal officer G N Shobha, Sridevi trust administrative officer T V Brahmadevayya, lecturer Dr T M Venkatesh, K S Girish, Jagadish Kuriyavar were also present.
