Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation Company Secretary and Managing Director Radhakrishna directed panchayat executive officers to quash all Ashraya houses which are pending from long back and start new registrations.
He was speaking at the progress review meeting of Ashraya Ambedkar Indira Aawaas Navagrama Scheme, held at city’s Jal Nirmal auditorium on Monday here, he said that some of the houses sanctioned under the scheme in the year 1997 and till today the houses are not completed.
So all the incomplete houses must be quashed within 15 days and all the amount must be deposited in the new account opened for that purpose, he said. The Ashraya houses must be compulsorily constructed by beneficiaries alone.
Not for any reason they should be given to agency for construction. Suppose if the order has been made to agency to construct the same, those should be quashed immediately, he said.
Further he asked panchayat executive officers to recover the loan given to benificiareis to construct Ashraya houses who are below poverty line, should be recovered in installments leaving subsidy amount. If officials fail to recover the same would be withheld from the salary of the concerned officials he added.
