Child made to drink urine
A teacher of a government-supported nursery school has been suspended from service for allegedly forcing a three-year-old girl drink urine as punishment for urinating in the class-room in a village near Thrissur, reports PTI.
The teacher of the ‘anganwadi’ at Muppliam village, Mary Dominic, was placed under suspension by Child Welfare Officer of the Kodakara Block panchayat on Monday after the incident that happened last week came to light, official sources said. The action against the teacher was taken on the basis of an oral complaint from the child’s mother.
6 injured in chopper crash
A chopper of a private airliner crashed in Trikuta hills on Tuesday leaving five Vaishnodevi pilgrims and the pilot injured. The Chetak helicopter crashed in the hills due to a technical problem, PTI reports from Jammu.
The helicopter crashed after take off from Katra helipad around 1300 hours, officials said. Six persons, including five pilgrims and the captain were injured and have been hospitalised. Authorities have ordered a probe into the incident.
