Nihal Unni’s fine century was the feature of Bangalore City XI’s thumping 66-run win over President’s XI in the KSCA inter-zonal (under-17) cricket tournament here on Tuesday.
Batting first, Bangalore City, riding on Unni’s 101 (141b, 11x4) and a fine 77 (89b, 12x4) from Mohammed Muneer, scored 234 for five in their quota of 50 overs.
In reply, President’s XI were skittled out for 168 in 48.5 overs. Four of their batsmen got off to good starts, but couldn’t convert them into big knocks. S Rohith (3/32) was the main wicket-taker. Vikas Kumar picked up two for 38.
Elsewhere, Secretary’s XI scored a five-wicket win over Combined City XI in a low-scoring encounter.
